Novel Browser ("the App") is a web browser with AI-powered translation capabilities. This Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled when you use the App.
We do NOT collect, store, or transmit personal data to our own servers except as described below for managing translation usage limits on our proxy service.
When you use translation through our proxy (free or subscription), the App collects your device's Android ID, hashed with SHA-256 before transmission. The original value is never stored or sent. We store the hashed identifier and the amount of translation usage associated with your device on our proxy servers until you request deletion (Section 9). Usage limits are not reset on a daily schedule.
Purpose: To provide fair-use translation limits without requiring user account creation.
If you choose to watch rewarded ads, Google AdMob may collect your Advertising ID (AAID) and related data for ad delivery. Completing a rewarded ad may increase your translation allowance through our proxy.
When you use the translation feature, the text content of the web page you are currently viewing is sent to an AI provider. Depending on your plan:

The App uses GeckoView (Mozilla's browser engine). Websites you visit may set cookies as in any browser. You can clear cookies and site data in Settings.
The App may use third-party components for browsing, advertising, payments, optional crash reporting, and translation routing. Each provider handles data under its own policies.
We do NOT sell, rent, or share user data with third parties for marketing. Data that leaves your device for our service consists of the hashed device identifier and usage data for quota management, text you choose to translate, and advertising identifiers processed by AdMob when you interact with ads.
The App is not directed at children under 13.
Delete local data in Settings → Privacy & Data, clear translation cache, or uninstall the App.
Server-side quota data is retained until you request deletion. Email badmumyo@gmail.com with your Deletion Request ID from Settings → Privacy & Data, or see Data Deletion.
Upon deletion, usage records are erased. To prevent abuse, we may retain a hashed device identifier and a free-tier-used flag (not personally identifiable). Free translation quota is not restored after deletion.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the App and on this website.
